What Yumetype is
Yumetype is a 90-second AI quiz that matches you to one of 12 anime soul archetypes — from the loud charge of the shounen protagonist to the quiet pragmatism of the isekai system-reader. Each result includes a custom AI portrait, a 500-word inner letter written in your archetype's voice, and a Friend Compatibility comparison so you can match against people you know.
How the matching works
Every archetype is positioned on a 5-axis personality model: Energy expression, Warmth orientation, Cognitive mode, Drive direction, Intensity register. Each axis ranges from −2 to +2. Your 20 quiz answers map to a 5-tuple, the closest archetype is selected by Euclidean distance, and a "shadow" archetype is flagged when the runner-up is within 0.20 confidence. The model is opinionated, not scientific — it's designed to be specific enough to feel earned, not so vague it could mean anything.
Who builds it
Yumetype is the first product from Embertide Studio, an independent studio led by founder Sandoz. The 12 archetypes, scoring engine, and content are written and curated in-house. AI is used for image generation and the inner-letter writing, both gated by content moderation.
Why anime archetypes (instead of MBTI / astrology)
Anime tropes are an alive, native vocabulary for a generation that already reads themselves through "kuudere" and "tsundere" the way an earlier generation read themselves through "Capricorn moon" or "INTJ". The mirror is sharper because it speaks your dialect. If MBTI and astrology are too abstract or too cosmic for you, the 12-archetype map is built around the specific personality DNA you already use to describe characters and friends.
